From Don the Beachcomber's, Honolulu, Hawaii, circa 1950s. When Don divorced his wife Sunny Sund, she got the Hollywood restaurant and he set up shop in Waikiki. In addition to his luau-style Cabaret Restaurant on the beach, he also opened "The Colonel's Plantation Beef Steak and Coffee House" in the International Marketplace. No doubt this drink was invented for the latter.

  of Blended Lightly Aged (Gold) Rum

Steps

• Shake with one cup crushed ice.
• Pour into tall glass with 3 or 4 ice cubes.
• Garnish with pineapple chunk and sprig of mint.
