This drink honors a Cuban president, but there are differing accounts as to exactly which one it was. Yet he must have been a good one to get his name on a drink this tasty. A sadly forgotten classic, it's described by author Wayne Curtis as "part tropical treat, part sophisticated lounge drink, and wholly Cuban."

Ingredients

  barspoon
  of Grenadine syrup
• 0.75
  oz
  of Dry Vermouth
• 0.5
  oz
  of Orange Curaçao liqueur
• 1.5
  oz
  of Blended Lightly Aged (Gold) Rum

Steps

• Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
• Add cracked or cubed ice, shake, and then double-strain into a chilled coupe.
