Reconstruction from an eyewitness of Captain Kidd in and Antigua tavern in December 1688

  of Blended Lightly Aged (Gold) Rum
• 1
  oz
  of Demerara / dark Muscovado / brown sugar
• 0.5
  oz
  of Lime juice
• 1
  piece(s)
  of Egg
• 0
  oz
  of Freshly grated nutmeg

Steps

• Place lime, sugar, rum and egg yolk in a shaker. Fill with ice cubes, then shake until your arms get tired.
• Strain into a punch cup or short mug.
• Grate some fresh nutmeg on top.
• If you want to be a pirate purist, omit the ice, add 1/2 oz water, then shake and strain as indicated.
