Jeff "Beachbum" Berry first discovered this 1937 recipe in the handwritten notebook of Dick Santiago, and original Don the Beachcomber maître d', which was gifted to him by Santiago's daughter Jennifer. The book was written in code, and Berry spent several years deciphering precisely what Donn's Mix contained, before ultimately discovering it to be a mixture of grapefruit juice and cinnamon syrup, a flavor combination that remains popular in tiki recipes today.

Steps
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and add 1/2 cup crushed ice.
- Shake for 5 seconds.
- Pour into a tall glass or tiki mug and top with more crushed ice.
- Garnish with a grapefruit peel, cinnamon stick, edible orchid, and mint.
