Created at the Shepherd Hotel in Cairo by legendary globetrotting barman Joe Scialom, this was the drink that fortified Montgomery's boys during the Second World War as they pushed back against Rommel in North Africa.

  of Ginger Beer
• 0.5
  oz
  of Lime juice
• 0.25
  oz
  of Demerara / dark Muscovado sugar syrup (2 sugar to 1 water)
• 1
  oz
  of London Dry Gin
• 1
  oz
  of Brandy
• 2
  dash
  of Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Steps

• Add the ginger beer to a Collins or highball glass, then add the remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
• Fill with cracked or cubed ice.
• Shake and strain the contents into the glass and gently fill with cubed or cracked ice and then garnish with mint sprig.
